Dandavats Prabhu Gokulananda.

A phrase commonly heard from 2nd Amendment proponents/gun owners regarding the government taking their guns is “They’ll have to pry it from my cold dead hands.” It sounds good but the prying loose of guns from the hands has been going on for decades while the hands are still warm. As you know, in my opinion it will continue. So long as the guns are removed incrementally the government will get its way. In the end those who would resist to the point of death are few and far between, on the high side I would guess less than 5% of gun owners would fight to their death to keep them and I would be surprised if the number amounted to even one or two percent. Talk is cheap and easy when the consequences are distant.

Srila Giri Maharaja – “Every endeavor suffers from some fault”

Date: Jan. 8, 2020

Dear Jagadananda dasa,

Please accept my blessings.

Try as I might, sometimes technology escapes me. My job requires it and I end up getting scolded quite frequently.

The four defects that characterize the conditioned souls:

Prabhupāda: Illusion, mistake, cheating, imperfectness [of the senses]. They are aware of the imperfectness of the senses. Still they are proud of their knowledge. This is illusion. [end]

technology escapes me

It escapes everyone. The great hoax of technology is that it will compensate for our four defects. It (technology) is a logical extension of science, which offers the same false hope. The plague of so-called science is confirmation bias, a subset of the cheating propensity that will never be eliminated from the supposed “scientific method.” Read More...

Srila Giri Maharaja – “The imperfect & the perfect.”

My dear friends,

Please accept my humble dandavat pranamas.
I want to share these photos with you. They are not perfect, far from it, but the devotional mood — of Srimati Lila Sundari Devi — reflected in them, as she is offering gifts to Srila Govinda Maharaja on his appearance day, is perfect.
“She is my guru. Her devotional mood is worshipable by me.” — Srila Govinda Maharaja

Srila Giri Maharaja – “Do not follow every frivolous inspiration that appears in your mind.”

Date: 12/14/19

Chandramukhi Devi,

When chanting, the inspiration and words came and if it caused
any harm, please excuse.

The mind is very difficult to control, but you must control it. Do not follow every frivolous inspiration that appears in your mind.

If you have any serious point to make or question to ask of me you may do so. Otherwise, consult your guru about the difficulty you have controlling your mind.

Sincerely,

Swami B.K. Giri

Sril Giri Maharaja – “Srila Sridhara Maharaja, another Vyasa.”

Date: 10/17/19

Dear Sriman Paramananda dasa,

Please accept my humble dandavat pranamas in remembrance of our Divine Masters.

I received both your recent emails with 62 new transcripts & quoted slokas.

I forwarded all to Sriman Gokulananda to post on our website.

Srila Sridhara Maharaja produced an amazing body of work in both quality and quantity.

Srila Bhakti Vinoda Thakura mentioned the theory that the Bhagavatam was the work of several “Vyasadevas” who each added to the text in succession rather than just one original Vyasa of 5,000 yrs. ago producing the entire work.

Accepting that theory, Srila Sridhara Maharaja would have to be included as another of those Vyasas.
