письмо из Киева от самой пожилой преданной, Арундхати.

Dear Sriman Pada Tirtha dasa,

Please accept my blessings and well-wishes and please convey the same to your family and especially my dear disciple Srimati Arundhati Devi dasi.

I was very pleased, satisfied and happy to learn from you about the intense eagerness of Srimati Arundhati Devi to make progress in Krishna consciousness. I am very encouraged to hear such things and very pleased that you have taken the time to write to me about them.

Srimati Arundhati Devi is my disciple, but we see our disciples as representatives of our guru. I take it from your report of her activities that it is a message from my gurus that I should feel such intense desire to understand the direction of Sri Sri Guru Gauranga as she is attempting to understand through her devotional practices. I think you and your family must share this sentiment with me. Thus, we are all feeling very much encouraged. This is the very positive way of progress in spiritual life.

In Goloka Vrndavan everyone is encouraged by everyone. Srila Sridhara Maharaja has characterized that transcendental abode as “the land of gurus.” Krishna is the Supreme Personality in all respects. But even He is enlivened to see the devotional mood of his devotees. Srimati Radharani is the leader of all the devotees and can be thought of as the Supreme Personality of Servitor Godhead. Her devotion to Sri Krishna is superior in every way to all others and it manifests itself in different ways. One of the ways it is revealed is through Her beauty. Krishna, seeing the beauty of Srimati Radharani becomes more beautiful. And She, in turn, seeing His increased beauty, again becomes even more beautiful than before. This characteristic of the servant encouraging the master and the master encouraging the servant is found everywhere in the spiritual world, from the highest position, as just explained, down to the seemingly lowest position. Thus, even the creepers, the grasses, the sand and the soil of Sri Vrndavana Dhama, playing their respective roles and serving their respective functions, all enliven the senses of Sri Krishna, Sri Radha and Their subordinates. Each of them, in turn, becomes more beautiful and seeing this, the beauty of all concerned is enhanced. The cycle then continues with each cycle progressing further and further to enliven the whole environment with Krishna prema, in a never ending eternal progression; where the master enlivens the servant and the servant enlivens the master. Thus, “the land of gurus.” Where there is no question of who is master and who is servant, as each considers the other to be their master, their guru.

Krishna is the slave of Srimati Radharani. He is Her master, but She has captured Him completely by the intensity of Her devotion to Him. In that relationship it is impossible to tell who is the master and who is the servant, as each appears to be controlled by the other.

This is the whole secret to spiritual life. We want to serve our master to the utmost degree possible by us. When we are successful, we will be very surprised to see that our master is serving us so completely, that our utter dependence upon him is an inescapable conclusion. We will think “Without the grace of my Divine Master I have nothing. I cannot live, know happiness or have anything of value except by His Divine Grace.” When I fully believe “I am his.”, he will be mine. This is the natural way of love and affection. We see it in a limited way in the material world where it is perverted with so-called self-interest. But where does it come from? What is its origin? The answer can only be, its origin is the original person, Sri Krishna, Whose pastimes with His devotees are the basis for all conceptions of love and affection.

I pray this finds you all well in health and spirits. Please convey my humble obeisances to Srimati Kum Kum Devi.

With affection for each of you,

Swami B.K. Giri

Subject: Letter from Kiev from the oldest devotee, Arundhati

Our Dandavas Shrila Bhakti Kanan Giri Maharaj, write to you from Kiev on behalf of your faithful Arundhati – Tirtha Pad Das and Kum Kum Didi. We want to inform you that your faithful Arundhati feels well, performs sadhana, in her room there is a small altar on which images of deities and teachers are installed and your portrait, which she worships in the morning and in the evening. Arundhati read many books of Srila Govinda Maharaja and now reads the Bhagavad Gita. Because of her advanced age, she is not able to go to programs and perform services, but apparently she chose as her ministry to read books to which she treats with very great inner importance and devotes much time to this occupation. Most recently, she felt a problem with vision, she was harder to read and came to such despair that she began to cry and began to pray mercy from Krishna so that he gave her the opportunity to continue this occupation – reading. Apparently for her there is nothing more important in life than the opportunity to read the Bhagavad Gita. She very often remembers you Maharaj and transmits her dandavats. We all very much hope that we will have an opportunity to meet with you again someday. Hare Krsna! Our dandavats Arundhati Devi Dasi, Tirtha Pad and Kum Kum Didi.
