Srila Giri Maharaja – “Driving Srila Gurudeva”

Dear Sripada Bhakti Kanan Giri Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances.

I am reading everything you send me although not immediately as I am now spending many hours driving the motorways of GB.

Your emails are like rays of light from Vaikuntha & I am beginning to understand why Srila Gurudeva was very happy with your preaching style.
I am fortunate indeed that you care to give me your devotional association.

Today I have been thinking of your “mood” that you never take offence at anything and show so much tolerance to the fallen souls like me. In fact I often think of it and remembering that always puts me in mind of Srila Gurudeva because that was exactly his mood.

What can I say? I am eternally indebted to your Grace.

Srila Giri Maharaja – “Suspicions are not Conclusions”

Dear Sriman Vrndavan das,

As part of an introduction to our email thread [“Sriman Vrndavan Das’s rebuttal to my email.”] posted on our website I wrote this:

That one point Vrndavan offered as a clear dispute with me is contained in this passage he wrote to me: “How did you conclude that I deviated from Them?”, where “Them” refers to his gurus. I have reread my email several times searching for the passage where I accused Vrndavan das of deviating from his gurus. I could not find any place where I had made that accusation.

So that I am clear as Read More...

Srila Giri Maharaja – “Sriman Vrndavan Das’s rebuttal to my email.”

Dear Readers,

On Aug 4, 2018 I wrote an email to Sriman Vrndavan das which I then posted on our website (See: “Truths: Hidden and Rewarding”). He responded with an email to me dated Aug 5, 2018 wherein he seemed to take umbrage with the entirety of my email, although I admit to being baffled as to the exact points of his disagreement with me except for one.

Disagreement, as characterized in the above, is often Read More...

My dandavats Sriman Vrndavan das.

I’m happy to hear from you again after a long time

[You wrote to me:]

Let you think on this-
Nicholas Hagger’s books reveal truths that have been hidden, and are rewarding.

If you want to make progress in Krishna consciousness you will have to subdue your tendency to rely on mundane authorities. Their ideas have been classified by our Sri Guru Varga as those of the cheaters and the cheated. The ideas they promote are intended to cheat you. If you accept them you will be cheated.

Surely you did not take initiation from a Vaishnava guru in order to continue the same life you had prior to initiation. As Srila Sridhara Maharaja so eloquently wrote:

To err is human. To err is inevitable for all, Read More...

Srila Giri Maharaja – “Another fake challenge from Steve Deace?”

Date: 8/3/18

Mr. Deace,

Hare Krishna.

During your Podcast Ep. 338 you presented the following challenge:

@25:11 “because the only worldview The only one; pester me, bring me your emails, bring me your best arguments; i’ve held all your positions over my 45 years on this planet, and I frankly probably know your positions better than you do. So, bring them to me. Flood the inbox at [email protected] Show me another worldview that can adequately explain why the world is the way it is, why we as a species, as human beings are the way we are, and what the solution to it is.”

You then say: “Let me repeat that.”: (paraphrasing) Why the world is the way it is etc., and you repeat the challenge adding “show me another worldview outside the worldview Read More...

Srila Giri Maharaja – “The guru-less disciple”

Date: 7/25/18

Dear Srimati Kamala Devi,

Please accept my humble dandavat pranamas in remembrance of my Divine Masters.

Again, I thank you for your email, your well-wishes for me and your considered thoughts and opinions.

As you have touched on topics reminiscent of those I have heard discussed by our predecessor acharyas, I am indebted to you for helping me recall their words. However, after carefully considering your points, I conclude most of what you say is wrong and, when it is right, it is for the wrong reason.

My reading of your two letters tells me you are another self-inflicted (by your own choice) casualty of the guru-less disciple population which believes themselves to be disciples but, when asked who their guru is, either can not or will not respond or, respond (as you Read More...

Srila Giri Maharaja – “I am a complete nobody… “

Date: 7/18/18

Dear Srimati Kundalata Devi dasi,

Please accept my humble obeisances in remembrance of our Divine Masters.

I have felt troubled ever since reading this reply from you some months ago (3/30/18) to a post on my Facebook wall: “Who am I? I am a complete nobody… “ I began an immediate response on March 31 but, unfortunately, could not complete it to my satisfaction. But this phrase “I am a complete nobody” is one that does not sit well with me with respect to you; because it is not true. Expressions like this automatically establish the glories of Srila Guru Maharaja. He is so great that compared to him, even someone qualified in many ways, as you are, feel as if they are “nobody.” It also shows that Srila Guru Maharaja has instilled the quality of humility Read More...

Transcendental competition: Who’s the Mystery Man?

In our post BSG | “I need your association.” we offered the chance to request a full copy of the email sent by Sripada Goswami Maharaja to me, Giri Maharaja. Among the requests we received was this one:

Your Name: Ramai
Your Email: [Redacted]
Message to the Secretary: Dandavat Maharaja. Send me a copy of Goswami’s email of apology

Although the name is listed as that of Ramai (Sriman Ramai dasa brahmachari) and the email matches with the one I have on record for him, I was highly doubtful that he would have much interest in this matter. Neither have I heard anything from him (that I can recall) for the past eight years or so.

More to the point, this demanding language: “Send me a copy of Goswami’s email of apology” does not ring true to me as language this gentle vaishnava Read More...

I felt our many conversations were rewarding. There are many things I can actually only discuss with you. You have been there since the beginning and faithful throughout. I need your association.

You must know that I also highly value your camaraderie (tovarish) and affection. Please accept my apology for giving any other manic impression.
