Srila Giri Maharaja – “I welcome brutal honesty”

My dandavats to you Sriman Uddharan dasa.

To be brutally honest, Lilavati Devi and I think the article by Jagadananda Prabhu is a difficult read even with your corrections.

As Lilavati said “it is not succinct enough and doesn’t flow.”

A little “bombastic” I would add.

Then, following the line of being “brutally honest”, I don’t see how you could have written this to me just three days before (4/14/20), which pertained to the same article:

A few typos corrected otherwise okay.

Please explain how there could be such a vast disparity in your opinion.

Also, I had written to you:

Srila Giri Maharaja – “in remembrance of our Divine Masters”

Dear Sriman Uddharan dasa Adhikari.

Please accept my humble obeisances in remembrance of our Divine Masters.

“You cannot see me dancing, but in my heart I am dancing.”, so said Srila Sridhara Maharaja upon hearing the approach of the nagara sankirtana party as it returned to his Math. Likewise, reading your response to my email immediately caused me to dance very happily within my heart.

I was also very happy that you caused me to remember this talk of Srila Govinda Maharaja:

Student: If I act in a bad way, no nice, avaiṣṇava way, can the devotees chastise me and tell me, “No no. You should act this way.” They can do that? They can correct me?

Uddharan dasa – “Krishna Karuna virus”

Dear Sripada Bhakti Kanan Giri Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances.

Will you please post the letter below my signature?

The post is now done.

I pray all is well with you and all residents of our UK ashram.

All is well in the UK ashram. The spring is arriving and we are taking yellow flowers from the garden to worship our Deities.
Lilavati Devi is planting potatoes today and I have been painting and repairing fences.

At least this is one place in the UK where there is no fear of Coronavirus and it is not being chanted on a daily basis.
To refer to it, we have adopted your brilliant devotional idea and call it the Krishna Karuna virus.

Gaudiya Panjika “A calendar is a calendar”

Srila Bhakti Kanan Giri Maharaja sent the below email to Uddharan dasa on the 2nd April 2019

Dear Sriman Uddharan dasa,

My dandavat pranamas to you.

As I mentioned when we spoke on Sunday, I had already begun a reply to your email. It is included below, even though we have already discussed most of the points.

I have at least updated the math calendar for April 2019 in the NM style

Very good.

whilst I figure out how to change that to some other style.

If you can improve the style that will be nice, but I don’t see how that will be much improved. A calendar is a calendar, a list of dates and times of notable events. But then I’m not very imaginative when it comes to artistic flourishes.

Maybe there is some other Gaudia Vaishnava sampradaya Read More...

“Sentimentalists, sahajiyas and swooning”

Srila Bhakti Kanan Giri Maharaja sent the below email to Uddharan dasa on the 21st March 2019

Dear Sriman Uddharan dasa,

Please accept my humble dandavat pranamas.

Today is very auspicious for we are just on the cusp of celebrating Sriman Mahaprabhu’s appearance.

I think I haven’t heard from you since asking you to post my email to Hrday Krishna dasa and assumed you might be facing some ill health or that your work had become so consuming it prevented you from posting the email. I assumed the same regarding your unusually late posting of our Sri Gaura Purnima celebrations.

Now I am very pleased to see you have posted that news and am responding to one point I want to make with regard to this painting you chose to use:

It is very similar to the one used by the BBT on the cover Read More...

Dear Sripada Bhakti Kanan Giri Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances.

Today Srimati Lilavati Devi and I spent the morning cooking, worshipping and reading for Srila Sridhara Maharaja on this his Divine Appearance Day.

Please see pictures of the small offerings as evidence.

Prasadam was simple but very tasteful, satisfying and happy.

I am now out doing money collection and will be home late this evening.

We are both well and praying to become the humble servants of the Vaishnavas.

Yours

Srila Giri Maharaja – “Good for Sripada Paramahamsa Maharaja”

1/3/2018

Dear Sriman Uddharan dasa Adhikari,

My dandavat pranamas to Your Grace.

I just read your news about the Indian Maths (included below my signature).

Good for Sripada Paramahamsa Maharaja, Sriman Mahadeva and those others who have realized their grave errors in opposing Sripada Acharya Maharaja as the rightful heir to the Navadwipa Math and the Indian group of Maths and are now working to remove Sripadas Nandana Maharaja and Chaitanya Giri Maharaja who, according to Srila Govinda Maharaja, they left Srila Sridhara Maharaja’s sampradaya when they went outside of it to take sannyasa from Srila Puri Maharaja.

Paramahamsa Maharaja and associates seem to have realized on their own, and by Srila Gurudeva’s grace, that their actions were inappropriate. Contrast that with Sripada’s Read More...

“Books locked up?”

12/13/17

Dandavats.

The email I just sent responding to information on sending books to Croatia makes me think Acharya Maharaja & company no longer have access to all the books Madhusudana Maharaja kept locked up for so many years demanding full retail price, regardless of the quantity ordered.

Since anti-party 3 (AP3) (see footnote below signature) has control of the (Nabadwipa) Math, I expect they also have control of all the books stored there.

Maybe they would sell us large quantities at a reduced price?

But would we trust them to actually send us the books we ordered/paid for???

A recent email sent to Srila Giri Maharaja –

Dear Srila Bhakti Kanan Giri Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances.

Jai Srila Gurudeva!

Speaking of whom, did you intentionally avoid posting a notice of our observance today (now yesterday) of his disappearance?

To my shame I forgot to post it.

Lilavati Devi reminded me I hadn’t posted it but by then the day was almost over.

I checked if I had posted last year’s observance but it seems I had not done that either.

I am thinking that as well as a bad memory I have a mental block as I do not find it a happy day to remember.

I remarked to Lilavati Devi that I remember it as the day the world went mad and when the good sense, reason and sobriety of prominent devotees who were ordered by the spiritual master to become acharyas was lost due to the influence of illusion Read More...
