I’m wondering whether you will have enough strength and courage to publish all of it on your website. — BBA
I don’t know why Sripada Bhakti Bimal Avadhuta Maharaja would have anything to wonder about.
I am happy to post rebuttals, especially from the acharyas appointed by Srila Govinda Maharaja, to any of the articles I have posted on this blog. I have repeatedly requested responses, rebuttals, corrections, etc. from each of them. For the most part, I invited their comments or corrections prior to posting articles concerning them, just as I have done with this most recent issue Sripada Avadhuta Maharaja is addressing.
This policy is not new and has been stated openly and publicly several times. This is evidenced by the below extract from Srila Giri Maharaja “Six Months – Still No Acharya Board”, which was published on 10/11/10, more than three years ago.
I have presented these same points on many occasions to the International Acharya Board as a group and to most of its members individually. For the most part they seem to have fallen on deaf ears.
If the International Acharya Board or any of its members believe I have written something wrong, I welcome their response and will see that it is published here with the same attention and prominence as this article of mine.
I further welcome any factual corrections or philosophical rebuttals whether they be from the IAB or any of the devotees of our mission.
We are all students. I am a student and welcome the chance to learn from my friends. I cannot learn or make progress if I do not expose my thoughts to criticism by others.
Srila Sridhara Maharaja- So in these last weeks I have insulted [scolded?] them permanently and the talk has been recorded? You caught me?”Dhira Krishna Swami- “I won’t distribute this recording. I will not distribute…”Srila Sridhara Maharaja- “Yes, you may distribute.”
Dhira Krishna Swami- “Then I will.”
Srila Sridhara Maharaja- “What I am within me, the people will know, and they will abuse me. But what I am, if I need to be abused, it will be well and good. Any offenses will be purged out.” –
Praying at the lotus feet of my Divine Masters and all the devotees of the Lord to be merciful to this humble jiva,
I am, Swami B.K. Giri
Copies of this article, with a request for comments, have been sent to Srila Janardana Maharaja, Srila Ashrama Maharaja, Srila Acharya Maharaja, Srila Avadhuta Maharaja and Srila Trivikarama Maharaja.
NOTE: Sripada Avadhuta Maharaja did not give any instructions as to his preference for a title. I selected the one above based on the assumption he felt it was the strongest point he had to make. I welcome him to select his own title, if he chooses.
Sripada Avadhuta Maharaja’s letter —
Dear Giri Maharaj,
please accept my dandavat pranam.
It seems like I’m fully defeated with your arguments and shlokas. You are a great preacher and I wish you success. The world is open for you: Russia, America, Ukraine, Africa. But unfortunately spiritual centers under my direction are not open for you.
I think that your real intention is not to preach Krishna consciousness but to disturb minds of simple-hearted vaishnavas, as you are trying to do right now by publishing my personal letters to you on your blog [Acharya Abhiman: An Email Exchange With Sripad Avadhut Maharaja]. I’m very sorry about that, Maharaj, because spiritual life should not be mixed with politics and duplicity. It requires the opposite: sincerity, search for the truth and selfless sacrifice. Previously I’ve considered you as one of self-less devotees who are willing to take sufferings in sacrifice for Krishna consciousness. But, unfortunately, your action has proven to me that your nature is the opposite. I’m very sorry for that, it’s very sad.
Srila Govinda Maharaj would never approve this as he didn’t approve you disturbing Russian devotees previously. But now he is no longer with us and you are fully responsible for what you do. You like to publish different personal letters but you did not have strength to publish that Srila Gurudev have accused you of being sahajiya and told you not to come back to Russia. However, you are free man. He mentioned about you and your followers personally to many devotees more than one time and I can guarantee that those devotees still remember those instructions. But you are free to go. So it’s really up to you. I have nothing to say more.
But still I wish you success. You have many great qualities and you could direct them towards Krishna consciousness.
I’m allowing you to publish this letter on your web site, but I’m wondering whether you will have enough strength and courage to publish all of it on your website. Of course with your divine comments. 🙂
Happy New Year to you, to your follower and friends.
Please do not take this letter as an offense, but rather, as a diffrrent point of view.
My dandavats to you,
Swami B. B. Avadhut
