Read More...

“Towards Radhesha-Dhani… to Serve, Where Radharani is Serving Her Own Lord”

Our lineage is one of form breakers. Srimati Radharani is the Chieftess of that line. Sriman Mahaprabhu established Her as such, prepared the ground for Bhagavata-vidhi and revealed the supremacy of Radha-dasyam above all other transcendental relationships.

Srila Saraswati Thakura appeared as the modern-day reformer of Gaudiya Theism. He broke the form created by the imitationists by giving emphasis to preaching the precepts of Sri Rupa through a spiritually vital institution of his own creation. He then used it to collapse the false ego of the caste goswamis and brahmans by proving the superiority of bhagavata-vidhi over pancharatrika-vidhi on the basis of Sri Rupa’s siddhanta. With similar prowess he tore asunder the philosophies of the mayavadis and the voidists. He Read More...

Your very contemplative letter has given me much to think about and respond to. I will try my best to do so.

“It is easy for me to offer suggestions or critiques, but I do not have the capacity to produce the equal of what you have done”. That’s very hard to believe!

It’s very kind of you to say so. I know it is a sincere comment, one that is typical of a humble vaishnava.

However, I really feel myself to be very inadequate and insignificant when reading the heartfelt expressions of devotees for their guru. These are not always accurate indicators of deeper, Read More...

Dear Sriman Dayardra Nitai dasa,

Please accept my blessings.

Previously you asked for some guidance with regard to your preaching programs at the university. Now that you have arranged for such a program, it is a good time to begin.

On Facebook I received an invitation from you containing the following:

Local interspiritual minister DEWnada will present a question and answer session on eastern spiritualities and talk about the presence and practices of Hindu, Buddhist, Sufi and other eastern faiths here in our region.

Dear Sriman Dayardra Nitai dasa,

Please accept my blessings in remembrance of my Divine Masters.

I am very happy to hear this news of your preaching program at the university.

The environment is flooded over with almost unlimited diversions, obfuscations and lies about the true facts of life. The true facts are these: there are three aspects to the Absolute Truth. Of these, Bhagavan is Supreme. Bhagavan is Lord Sri Krishna:

There are much better writers than me. Sripada Jayadvaita Maharaja said it very well in an email to me a few years back (2008) with regard to a short article I wrote noting the passing of William F. Buckley (WFB):

“Thanks for sharing with me your piece on WFB. A little edgy, as you

Happy Janmastami from Sripada Avadhuta Maharaja & Friends

From Left to Right: Sripada Avadhuta Maharaja, Srimati Bhakti Lalita Devi dasi & Sriman Nitya Gopal das

The following conversation took place on the day of Sri Krishna Janmastami, September 6, 2015.

At approximately 4:30 PM my time, and thirty minutes before midnight his time, in St. Petersburg, Russia; I received a phone call in a voice I recognized but could hardly believe.

Thinking it might be some prank I asked “Who is this?” “Avadhuta Maharaj”, came the reply. It was enough for me to confirm, yes, it is he, Sripada Avadhuta Maharaja.

I offered: “Oh, Dandavats Maharaja.”

When he responded “Dandavats Maharaj.”, it was further confirmation it was, indeed, our one and only leader of Russia during Srila Gurudeva’s lifetime (he uses no “a” at the end Read More...

Happy Janmastami!

Lord Krishna & Yashoda Maa

Today I received affectionate well-wishes from some friends wishing me a “Happy Janmastami!”

I replied:

My dear friends,

Please accept my blessings and well-wishes.

We have heard an astrologer predict that a wonderful baby will appear tonight in Gokul from the womb of Srimati Yashoda Devi, the wife of Sri Nanda Maharaja. Through His appearance, He will remove all inauspiciousness from the world, annihilate the demon Kamsa, and all his demon friends. His name will be Krishna because His beautiful blackish form is all-attractive. He will give great joy to His devotees, whose happiness will increase unlimitedly as He exhibits wonderful pastimes and the most affectionate relationships with His servants, friends, elders and girl friends. Dear Mahananda Prabhu,

I was looking for the Math Calendar. As usual I was probably looking in all the wrong places. Is it available for download somewhere? I’ve been using the ISKCON calendar which is calculated for our local time but of course it is not as complete in other respects as our own Math calendar.

Perhaps you could also fill me in on the practices for different festival days as they are followed at the Math there in Navadwipa. For example, I am accustomed to fasting till noon on the appearance day of my direct gurus such as Srila Sridhara Maharaj. I do likewise for Srila Bahktisiddhanta and Srils Bhaktivinoda Thakur. How far do we carry this out? Is it also done for Srila Gaurakishora, Read More...

Srila Giri Maharaja “Thoughts On Christianity – A 1999 Letter to My Brother”

BKG, Russian Train

From: Swami Giri

Subject: Thoughts on Christianity

Dear Gokulananda,

One of my brothers wrote to me very enthusiastically promoting Christianity. I responded with one very mild letter to which he replied with many quotations from the Bible, and so forth. This was my last letter to him after which I have not heard anything further from him in over a month. He did call me after receiving it to tell me it was “very interesting” and that he would reply, but then nothing. I thought you might also find it interesting and wonder if you think it is appropriate preaching for such persons. Especially the questions at the end. How do you think Rita would respond to such ideas?

Dear Steve,

I read with interest your reply to
