BBA | “Srila Gurudev has accused you of being sahajiya.”

I’m wondering whether you will have enough strength and courage to publish all of it on your website. — BBA

I don’t know why Sripada Bhakti Bimal Avadhuta Maharaja would have anything to wonder about.

I am happy to post rebuttals, especially from the acharyas appointed by Srila Govinda Maharaja, to any of the articles I have posted on this blog. I have repeatedly requested responses, rebuttals, corrections, etc. from each of them. For the most part, I invited their comments or corrections prior to posting articles concerning them, just as I have done with this most recent issue Sripada Avadhuta Maharaja is addressing.

This policy is not new and has been stated openly and publicly several times. This is evidenced by the below extract from Srila Giri Maharaja “Six Months – Still No Acharya Board”, which was published on 10/11/10, more than three years ago.

Acharya Abhiman: An Email Exchange With Sripad Avadhut Maharaja

Dear Sripada Avadhuta Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances.

I am responding to both your recent emails to me.

I do not understand why are you trying to associate yourself with such a fallen people like myself?

Maharaja, I think you must have misunderstood why I sent you a copy of the email I sent to Sripada’s Janardana Maharaja and Ashrama Maharaja. It was not to get your association. I had no expectation that you would respond to it. I sent a copy to you simply as a courtesy, since you are one of the six acharyas appointed by Srila Govinda Maharaja.

If you look at the header of the email I sent to you, you’ll see that I also sent a copy to each of the other acharyas selected by Srila Govinda Maharaja:

And when he withdrew, then what to [is] left? He had no other alternative but to go against Prabhupada. He became some sahajiya, his previous family culture, sahajiyaism. He came from sahajiya family, and because his offensive, repression towards us who are innocent followers of Prabhupada, he had, Prabhupada withdraw from him. That is my finding.

I had thought that he was really qualified. Prabhupada also told many times that: “In which way I shall go, one man can say, that is Vasudeva.” When he was speaking Hari-katha, Vasudeva Prabhu used to supply Shloka that will be necessary in the next Read More...

“I Am Always With Your Holiness” – A Letter From Srila Govinda Maharaja (12/17/94)

17 December 1994

Dear Sripad Bhakti Kanan Giri Maharaj,

Please accept my dandavat pranams in remembrance of our Divine Masters. I am very happy to receive your informative letter with your affectionate service donation.

Dealings with the devotees are actually very difficult, especially in this age of Kali. Actually we do not know clearly the mood of devotion of everybody and for that we shall try to see first ourselves. How much am I perfect, what is my duty, and in anyway not to loose our target- these three. Here I am always realizing myself and trying to proceed to our destiny with our real friends and so-called friends.

My dear Maharaj it is very hard in this age to harmonize with all the environment, but we have no other way. You are so affectionate and simple hearted. You are a clean Read More...

“One Day Before” – A Christmas Reflection

Right-Click Here and “Save As” to Download Video

Way back when (in 1999) Srila Giri Maharaja wrote the lines below as an offering to Srila Govinda Maharaja on his appearance day which was on December 24th (the day before Christmas). In the offering, the comparison between the day of Srila Govinda Maharaja’s appearance and the Christmas celebration (which is observed the following day) is not only ingenious, but quite profound in its meaning. We should all reflect upon the ocean of difference a single day can represent in a spiritual aspirant’s destination.

What a difference a day can make,
a turn, or a fork in the road we take.
To seek the truth or speculate
quite a difference a day can make.

BBA | “it is necessary to adopt a good strategy and cooperate with God-brothers”

In a recent open letter to devotees, Sripada Bhakti Bimal Avadhuta Maharaja (BBA), expressed his misunderstanding of the position of an acharya, specifically, the acharya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Navadwipa, Sripada Acharya Maharaja (emphasis added).

Most devotees willingly support Acharya Maharaj because of Gurudev but they don’t know that Gurudev told very clearly to Acharya Maharaj: “Will you fight, or will you run from the Math?” And Srila Acharya Maharaj promised to fight. And that really means to take care of devotees, His dieties and his Math. To do this it is necessary to adopt a good strategy and cooperate with God-brothers.

Here Avadhuta Maharaja, a member of the Primary Trust Board (PTB), publicly insults the President Sevaite Acharya of SCSM, implying that he Read More...

“One Who Acts Quickly, Will be Quick to Repent”

In my email dated April 15, 2011 to Sripada Acharya Maharaja, and copied to all the “acharyas” and members of the International Acharya Board, I wrote, in part (emphasis added):

I also took the time this morning to listen to Sripada Goswami Maharaja’s talk titled “The guiding principal is to avoid Vaisnava aparadha.”

Goswami Maharaja – Guiding Principle

He said something I found to be of great interest, (paraphrasing) “One who acts quickly will be quick to repent.” This is certainly good advice and I will take this opportunity to suggest you and the other members of the International Acharya Board follow it.

You (the Board), following the direction of Sripada Goswami Maharaja, acted very quickly to create the illusion that your Holiness Read More...

BSG’s Letter Seeking Acharya Maharaja’s Forgiveness

It has now been more than a week since Sripada Avadhuta Maharaja assured the world, in his open letter of Dec. 9, 2013, that BSG “in a couple of days” will publicly ask Acharya Maharaja to forgive him “for breaking the Vaisnava etiquette”.

I’m sure that in couple of days all their fighting matter will go down and Acharya Maharaj will himself publicly announce that he made some mistakes and Goswami Maharaj publicly will ask him forgiveness for breaking the Vaisnava etiquette.” — B.B Avadhuta Maharaja (emphasis added), “Avadhuta Maharaja explains BSG’s attack on Acharya Maharaja.”

To assist in this matter I have provided a space here, so that as soon as I become aware of BSG’s posting his public plea for “forgiveness Read More...
