Prabhu Jayanta Krishna “The Mood”

Dandavat pranama Bhakti Kanan Giri Maharaja,

Regarding my letter that I wrote to  Sripada Goswami Maharaja, about a clarification of why the Board of Initiating Acharyas [Acharya Sabha] has not been formed yet, and for which he never gave an answer, I don’t think it is necessary to publish it on your website at this time.

There is a lot of confusion at the present moment. Anyone who asks for the truth will be seen as a heretic.

I recently spoke with Sriman Prapanna Prabhu from Brazil and he told me that the environment there is like they are living during the time of the Spanish Inquisition. There are those who think that Srila Acharya Maharaja is the World Acharya (including Brasil) and there are those that are trying rightly to explain that Srila Trivikrama Maharaja is Srila Gurudeva’s blessed Acharya for Brazil and that he is the one who should be taking disciples there. We are just in the beginning. If this truth is not made clear now, then misconception will disrupt the entire worldwide mission.

Prabhu Prapanna also told me that he agrees with my decision to write Sripada Goswami Maharaja and the International Acharya Board to ask them to explain their behavior. Someone may ask why I am doing this, I am not directly involved, I don’t know everything about these matters. But, he told me that we should not be like blind puppets, it is the duty of all of us to establish Srila Gurudeva’s directives.

Many times I have seen people doing something wrong in our mission, and previously in another mission, but I didn’t say anything. I was thinking, “Who am I to correct others?”

For example, Swarupananda Prabhu (at the time Sagar Maharaja) used to abuse the devotees in the London temple, or send his bodyguard to threaten them, but nobody would say anything because he was the great “Mahamandalishwara!” Who would side against him? He was like a mountain. Who would believe anything said against him?

Another example was Ranjit. He was asking guests and devotees for money for his own use and hiding it from Gurudeva. I saw it. But he was Gurudeva’s servant. Who is going to say anything?

I was thinking to write another email to Sripada Goswami Maharaja, but I already got in trouble for the first one that I just wrote, and Gurudeva’s mood was not to disturb others.

Also, it is not necessary to talk too much or mention too many scriptures and what our Guru said. They, the members of the International Acharya Board, know everything. Gurudeva told us that our progress mainly depends on our mood.

You already wrote elaborately on your website about these matters. I think that is more than enough for those who want to understand.

I think you took a step that was too extreme with your recent “Pied Piper” article. Many people cannot understand it. However, I know you published it in exasperation, after more than a year of seeing that a few men are blocking the proper implementation of Gurudeva’s instructions.

There is a lot of emotionalism and sentimentality right now. Virtuous persons and devotees are always grateful to those who have helped them.

The other Acharyas like Srila Janardana Maharaja feel like they are committing an offense towards Sripada Goswami Maharaja if they don’t let him sit on an Acharya Board of some kind.

But it is not so. There is no hate. You all like Sripada Goswami Maharaja.

Most of the devotees that don’t see the truth are those that were connected with Sripada Goswami Maharaja, the 13th Street Temple and the Guardian of Devotion Press. Those who are new to the mission have a more neutral vision of things and can see what is actually going on.

Because it is true, no one can deny that because of him we are all here today in SCSMATH. This includes myself and others of the second generation. We all got Guru Maharaja’s books because of him.

If I can draw an example, this situation is kind of like when we were in ISCKON. Because Srila Swami Maharaja told his disciples to go to Srila Guru Maharaja, that is why we went, without any guilty feelings, because we knew the truth – that Srila Swami Maharaja said to hear from Srila Guru Maharaja in his absence.

But at that time, The G.B.C. tried to cover that truth and were telling the devotees that they were ungrateful to Srila Swami Maharaja who was their savior, and that those who went to hear from Srila Sridhar Maharaja were offenders to Srila Swami Maharaja. You know the story, I don’t have to tell you all the details.

So, unless Sripada Goswami Maharaja will tell the devotees how things really are, unless he will direct the Initiating Acharyas to follow the directives and desires of Srila Gurudeva in his last Will, there is no way that we can come out of this.

They will all think of themselves as ungrateful and offensive to him.

He has got a position of love with the devotees and I think that is why Srila Gurudeva did not give him a formal position in the mission, he doesn’t need that, he is a preacher.

He told me in his answer to my email that Gurudeva gave him the service to take care of the devotees all over the world and we have all seen that Gurudeva sent him everywhere.

But he is so highly respected by all of us, and rightly so, that unless he transfers that love of ours for him to the specific instructions of Srila Gurudeva in his last Will, no adjustment can be made.

He is the only one who can straighten things up.

In the words of Srila Gurudeva: “Without blaming or accusing anyone just do better.”

Best Regards,

Jayanta Krishna dasa
