Srila Giri Maharaja – “Generally the cover-up is seen as being worse than the crime”

Dandavats Sripada Giri Maharaja,

Now I am not so sure about posting “Who is the ācārya of the present Gauḍīya-sampradāya.”?

The references to Srila Sridhara Maharaja may be misunderstood by those with a poor understanding of Srila Prabhupada’s transcendental relationship with Srila Sridhara Maharaja.

Maybe, I could omit the references?

I would not do that. Generally the cover-up is seen as being worse than the crime.
Hiding some of Srila Swami Maharaja’s thoughts, while otherwise presenting the full transcript of a room conversation, if discovered will, in my opinion do more to make it appear there is some element of wickedness in having the full open and frank discussion exposed.

Thinking that we shall protect the world from hearing Swami Maharaja’s talks seems wrong headed to me. How many steps is it from there to the ideas of Goswami Maharaj that only he knows what Sridhar Maharaj wants to say and therefore he and he alone shall decide which of Sridhar Maharaja’s words shall be distributed to those outside himself or his designated inner circle?

Who among us is qualified to read Srmad Bhagavatam, what to speak of Chaitanya Charitamrta? And, if we are qualified, when did we become so? Were we qualified from the beginning or later on? And there must be a beginning for everyone. Is it not so?

I considered your question. I had the same thought myself. But it seems to me we should be more acutely interested in protecting our gurus from the world than protecting the world from them. That seems to me to be a higher service.

Let us try our best to bring everyone to the lotus feet of Sri Guru. Let everyone get the chance to hear the transcendental vibrations from their lotus lips. Those that cannot understand will still benefit from being bathed in the sunlight. Those who can understand will become like the sun.
