Dear Sriman Dayardra Nitai dasa,
Please accept my blessings in remembrance of my Divine Masters.
I am very happy to hear this news of your preaching program at the university.
The environment is flooded over with almost unlimited diversions, obfuscations and lies about the true facts of life. The true facts are these: there are three aspects to the Absolute Truth. Of these, Bhagavan is Supreme. Bhagavan is Lord Sri Krishna:
vadanti tat tattva-vidas
tattvaṁ yaj jñānam advayam
bhagavān iti śabdyate
Learned transcendentalists who know the Absolute Truth call this nondual substance Brahman, Paramātmā or Bhagavān.
ete cāṁśa-kalāḥ puṁsaḥ
kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam
mṛḍayanti yuge yuge
All of the above-mentioned incarnations are either plenary portions or portions of the plenary portions of the Lord, but Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa is the original Personality of Godhead. All of them appear on planets whenever there is a disturbance created by the atheists. The Lord incarnates to protect the theists.
Any education that does not infuse into the student such essential facts, is simply a useless waste of time.
You have been blessed to know these facts. Those who hear them from you will be similarly blessed, for such opportunities are very rare in this world:
kaścid yatati siddhaye
yatatām api siddhānāṁ
kaścin māṁ vetti tattvataḥ
Out of many thousands among men, one may endeavor for perfection, and of those who have achieved perfection, hardly one knows Me in truth.
There are many cheating religions and so-called spiritual teachers. Some of them are successful in gathering many followers, but their followers are cheated because they do not learn that the perfection of human life can only be found when one understands his eternal position (sanatana dharama) as a servant of Sri Krishna: jīvera ‘svarūpa’ haya — kṛṣṇera ‘nitya-dāsa’ (CC Mad. 20.108)
I am happy to learn sanatana dharma is the topic of your talk. No one can reasonably deny that our eternal occupation is as servants. Either we are slaves of our senses, maya, illusion and, thereby, subject to the continued unhappiness and distress that come in the form of birth, death, old age and disease: or we live eternal carefree lives of joy in one of the five relationships of service to the Sweet Absolute Truth, Sri Krishna.
May Krishna bless you with success in your attempt to present these clear choices, and the obvious superiority of the latter, to all those you meet.
Please try to leave each student with some printed material they can keep for future reference, especially our website address, so that they may pursue any lingering interest they may have.
If you need invitation cards or our booklet “Home Comfort” for distribution, please let me know and I will see that you are supplied. Anyone interested may, of course, order our books through our website.
I pray this finds you well in health and spirits.
Your ever well-wisher,
Swami B.K. Giri
