On July 17, 2015, Sripad Tyagi Maharaja called Srila Giri Maharaja and told him, “I’m working under the direction of Sripada Acharya Maharaja and Sripada Janardana Maharaja.”
Sriman Jayanta Krishna in front and Sripada Tyagi Maharaja behind him (in saffron), “taking money and men, money and specially men to”* Sripada Acharya Maharaja and one of his rtviks, Sripada Janardana Maharaja.

Dear Sripada Tyagi Maharaja,
Please accept my humble dandavat pranams.
Maharaja, I will try my best to answer all your questions [from email dated: 7/16/15]. I am a servant of the devotees and I am open to everyone, with some special sympathy for the disciples and followers in the line of Srila Govinda Maharaja. Whatever small wealth I have collected belongs to him. I am only a trustee charged with distributing it on his behalf, in accordance with his Divine Will.
For now, I have a couple questions I hope you will answer for me. There are no wrong answers. I would simply like honest ones.
First, under whose auspices, which acharya’s direction, are you compiling this book [on Deity puja]?
Second, I have been very publicly branded “offender” of the very worst type by the head of the International Acharya Board [“IAB”], Sripada Acharya Maharaja, and all its members. Surely you are keenly aware of: “Censure of Sripad BK Giri Maharaj by the [International] Acharya Board of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, 20 July 2011” which, for convenience, I shall refer to as the Letter of Censure (“LoC”).
The worst type of offender is described accurately in the LoC as one who would commit offense to Srila Govinda Maharaja. The LoC clearly attempts to cast me in that mold:
During his time as acharya, we would not tolerate that anyone would criticize Srila Govinda Maharaj, regardless of their reasons for doing so or their position. As per the order of Srila Guru Maharaj, that person would be ousted from the Math and mission.
In his Last Will and Testament Srila Govinda Maharaj wrote:
“It is my last desire and direction to all my loyal disciples, male and female, of Western and Eastern countries and to the devoted associates under my shelter, that all of them will obey the President Acharya Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj, remain faithful to him and continue to render assistance in the Seva affairs of Sri Math.
“If anyone fails to honour this direction of mine and does not abide by my last desire, then he will be compelled to leave this Math, all other Maths and the Mission.
“It is the direction of Srila Guru Maharaj that only those who will be loyal to the Sevaite Acharya of the Math and will act accordingly will be members of the Math. Those who would cause disturbance to the Math and the Mission obstructing the Seva work done by the Acharya must be expelled from all Maths and their premises.”
This directive applies to Giri Maharaj. He is publicly criticizing the present Sevaite Acharya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj, and the Acharya Board that he heads. He has also declared that he no longer recognizes Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math in Nabadwip as the central Math and will try to establish his own Math as the central Math of the mission.
Reiterating the point that I am a terrible offender, etc. you and all “faithful followers of Srila Govinda Maharaj” are advised to entirely avoid my association by any means whatsoever and, I assume, should you happen to see my face, immediately take bath in the Ganges:
We must inform the devotees that Giri Maharaj is acting offensively, independently and without authority. We do not recognize him as a bonafide leader of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. We advise all faithful followers of Srila Govinda Maharaj to avoid his association, personally, or through email and the internet.
The censure has not been rescinded and I happen to know many devotees all over the world live in fear of being associated with me. To instill this fear they have been threatened in many ways by “acharyas” and leaders under them.
As for your book, any contribution I might make would, according to the above, serve only to pollute it. At best it would be considered disinformation, by which I have become notoriously infamous for using it to conduct campaigns:
For the past year Sripad Giri Maharaj has conducted a disinformation campaign, publicly criticizing Srila Acharya Maharaj, and the Acharya Board, established by Srila Govinda Maharaj.
For all the above reasons, I am considered to be an enemy of all the IAB acharyas and their loyal followers.
The second question, then, stating it succinctly, is this: “In light of these circumstances, why are you contacting me?”
I can hardly imagine you weren’t anticipating this second question and look forward, with interest, to your response.
I pray this finds you well in health and spirits.
Swami B.K. Giri
[Sripada Tyagi Maharaja called Srila Giri Maharaja the next day (July 17), to respond to the email above.]
The email below is from Srila Giri Maharaja to Sriman Uddharan dasa Adhikari, in response to his comments on the email above.
To: Sriman Uddharan dasa Adhikari
[Uddharan dasa Wrote:] Lilavati Devi thinks you are being used as an “information bureau” and asks will he, Tyagi Maharaj give full credit to your Grace in his book for services rendered by your bureau?
Good question. I thought of that and remember I heard hundreds and hundreds of hours of questions presented to Srila Sridhara Maharaja. I never once heard him ask that he be credited for the answers.
Just after sending you the letter [above] I added:
Maharaja, I will try my best to answer all your questions.
It is not my property, it is his. If anyone will take it and benefit from it, I will be happy.
Along similar lines to “being used as an ‘information bureau’”, I can’t help but wonder if he wasn’t put up to this by Janardan Maharaja or others to see if our relations might be “harmonized.”
Thanks for your quick response and Srimati Lilavati Devi’s input.

*”Anyhow, that came to light. And some of us could not tolerate that. That the acharya will have such a black spot. We are taking money and men, money and specially men to one who will have such suspicious character, black spot. We could not tolerate that.” — Srila Sridhara Maharaja,” 82.11.18.C_82.11.19.A @33:27
The “suspicious character” referred to, is that of one who rejects the order of his guru, in this case, the final instructions given by Srila Govinda Maharaja in his Last Will and Testament.
