“… you will never lose My company.” — Srila Giri Maharaja

My dear spiritual daughter,

Please accept my blessings and well-wishes in remembrance of my Divine Masters.

I am worried, because you now speak very rarely with me and when you do, only shortly.

It is my fear thet you have become forgetful of me!

Krishna is a cruel master. Because of this, Sriman Mahaprabhu felt neglected by Him and showed the extreme degree of feeling of separation from Krishna. This was to show us how even the best of Krishna’s servants may feel neglected by their Master. Sri Chaitanya Deva also showed us the extreme degree of devotion of Krishna’s servants toward their Loving Lord.

Sri Guru is the manifestation of the mercy of Sri Krishna. But, because he represents Krishna fully, he may sometimes appear to be cruel and neglectful, even of his very dear disciples, servants and friends.

Mahaprabhu instructed us how to serve our merciful, loving and cruel master:

āśliṣya vā pāda-ratāṁ pinaṣṭu mām

“Let Kṛṣṇa tightly embrace this maidservant, who has fallen at His lotus feet. Let Himtrample Me or break My heart by never being visible to Me. He is a debauchee, after all, and can do whatever He likes, but He is still no one other than the worshipable Lord of My heart.

Cc, Antya 20.47

“Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” The heart’s yearning for Divine association is akin to the hunger pangs felt in the stomach. The latter is a sign of good physical health, the former a sign of good spiritual health.”

Be happy that you feel such yearning of the heart for association with your guru. It is very rare in this world that one is so fortunate.

Remember also that association and closeness are not dependent upon being physically close. You will feel the presence of Sri Sri Guru Gauranga when trying your utmost to serve Them.

Sriman Mahaprabhu has given us the following instructions. We must always remember them.
